For example, Hitler promoted his Pagan Faith Movement, which was the Nazis; alternative to religion. The Nazis saw the German Faith movement as a way to gain control of the German Evangelical Church, and gave them heavy support (In 1939, the Faith Movement attracted two or three quarter million Protestants) for as long as they felt the movement had a chance to succeed. Since the Catholic Church was so major, Hitler could not control it, or just simply re-organise the Church as he did with the Protestant Church. However, he and the Pope made a neutral agreement (Concordat), which prevented the Catholic Church from speaking out politically. In 1940, during the beginning of World War II, he began to enslave the Jews. They were killed in concentration camps, gas chambers, firing squads, and starved to death. Many of the Jews moved to other countries, including America. It effected the United States because the Jewish population is now a significant percent of our entire population. The Jewish culture also contributed to our American culture. Hitler effected the United States through his inhumane treatment of the Jews in Germany.
